Tsun was founded by a group of young professionals who had spent nearly a decade working in the solar inverter industry. Their passion for solar energy drove them to constantly seek technical breakthroughs that could lead to innovative changes within the industry. After 10 years of iterating on string inverters, they realized that further advancements in this area might not be possible. So, they began to ask themselves: What could be the next breakthrough for residential and small commercial solar systems? What better solution could they offer?
Through careful analysis, they identified the two major challenges facing residential and small commercial systems: fire risks and shading issues. These problems couldn’t be fully addressed by string inverters due to their technical limitations. It was clear to them that microinverters had the potential to solve both issues simultaneously. However, a major obstacle stood in the way: the cost of microinverters was prohibitively high for many systems.
Drawing inspiration from the string inverter industry, where increasing power reduces the per-watt cost significantly, they wondered if a similar approach could be applied to microinverters.
Driven by their passion and unwavering belief, these young innovators set out to do what had never been attempted before. They combined the lessons of the past with bold new ideas, pioneering a path no one else had dared to take. This is how Tsun was born, with a commitment to providing the world’s widest range of microinverters, from 300W to 6000W.
Today, Tsun’s mission is to make solar energy safer, more efficient, and more accessible. Their innovative microinverter solutions ensure that safety is affordable for everyone, helping to bring clean, reliable energy to rooftops around the world.
As the founder of TSUN, our vision is to create an innovative company that delivers tangible value to the photovoltaic (PV) industry, our customers, and the world at large. I entered the PV field in 2009, bringing over a decade of experience in the industry. My journey includes working with publicly listed companies and contributing to large-scale projects, such as a 10 GW PV power station. With a solid foundation from Tongji University and advanced studies at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, I have dedicated more than 15 years to advancing the solar energy sector.
